An Introduction to DIR® : Floortime™
The second TherapySPOT two-day workshop in this series is confirmed for 8 and 9 October 2026, hosted by the WA Occupational Therapy Association at the Pagoda Resort in Como. The workshop runs from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm each day.
This workshop covers the full DIR® framework across both days - from foundational theory and the six Functional Emotional Developmental Levels through to clinical application, transdisciplinary integration, and embedding Floortime™ principles across home, school, and community settings. Places at the May workshop filled quickly and a waiting list formed before any follow-on date was announced. Early bird pricing closes 8 August.

Two-Day Workshops
Held across two consecutive days, these workshops are designed for practitioners who want to go beyond the surface. The format allows time for ideas to breathe ‒ for concepts introduced in the morning to be questioned, applied, and revisited by the afternoon of the second day.
We deliberately keep cohorts small. This is not a conference-style event. Participants are expected to bring their questions, and a willingness to grapple with complexity.

In the weeks before any engagement, we spend time understanding your context: The presenting needs of your clients, the experience levels within your team, and where practitioners feel least equipped. The seminar itself reflects that conversation.

Offered by Kerry Wallace, supervision at TherapySPOT draws on four decades of paediatric clinical experience across South Africa and Australia including advanced training in DIR/Floortime, Sensory Integration, and psychodynamic approaches.
The aim is not to provide answers, but to help you think more clearly about the ones you already have. We work through live cases, examine the assumptions behind your clinical reasoning, and explore what the therapeutic relationship itself is telling you.
Supervision is available to Occupational Therapists and other Allied Health practitioners working with children and families, particularly those navigating complex presentations where developmental and emotional factors are intertwined.
